System 5

This system adds one additional feature to System 4, the Sump Safety.  The Sump Safety is a device designed to restrict the flow from the drain tile into the sump.  Since flow through a 4-inch drain tile could theoretically exceed 200 gpm, even the capacity of System 4 could be exceeded.  The Sump Safety is designed to physically limit the flow to less than the capacity of the installed pumps.

Key Benefits

bulletAdds backup capability for a loss of power or primary pump failure
bulletHigh flow backup pump capacity exceeds that of typical primary pumps
bulletThree batteries provide long run time for the battery backup pump
bulletSounds alarm to notify you of system activation
bulletSounds alarm to notify you of battery failure
bulletPhysically limits the flow into the sump

Limitations

    None

Stats

With Utility Power During Power Outage
Pumping Capacity (gpm)1 124 107
Pumping Time at 35 gpm (hours)2 No Limit 22.5

1 Pumping capacity is at the estimated operating point assuming 8 feet of lift is required.  See the Get Technical pages for details.

2 During a typical rainfall, continuous operation at 35 gpm would not be required, so pumping time would be significantly longer.
