This is the standard backup system. A single battery powered backup pump is added to provide backup capability when the primary pump fails or there is a power failure. One maintenance free battery is included with the system installation. A powerful battery charger is used so the backup pump can run continuously if power is available without depleting the battery. Single failure points still exist in this system at the common discharge line. It is also possible for a substantial storm to exceed the pumping capacity. |

1 Pumping capacity is at the estimated operating point assuming 8 feet of lift is required. See the Get Technical pages for details.
2 During a typical rainfall, continuous operation at 35 gpm would not be required, so pumping time would be significantly longer.
