While sump systems may appear simple, there are numerous ways that they can fail.  System reliability is improved by first identifying the failure modes and then changing the system to address them.

Some failures for a single pump system:

bulletPump switch fails in the off position
bulletPump switch fails in the on position
bulletPump intake clogs
bulletPump discharge clogs or freezes
bulletUtility power failure
bulletWater into sump exceeds pump capacity
